Diet:

You will use Kibbles & Bits for 6 – 12 months! Use of any other food with a higher protein level voids warranty! Save reciepts!

I use America’s #1 dog Food as the ingredients start with meat and works well in auto-feeders. It is called Old-Roy easily found at your local Wal-Mart store! I feed them as much as they want. Of course I add treats consisting of the various supplements some of them are listed below.

Ideally a Dane’s diet should be low in protein while avoiding corn, wheat and flaxen. However when going to a meat ingredients protein percent does go up so be aware. Also at Wal-Mart is Iams, and Purina One, both for Large breed dog formulas. Pets-Mart has Blue Buffalo an outstanding feed plus Science Diet available through your Vet.

Remember your dog is a CANINE not Bovine – feed meat! Do not feed chocolate or onions to your dog.

Deer – God’s creatures without injected hormones, and growth stimulating feed. No Pesticides as might be on fruits and vegetables in grocery market. No dye enhanced foods to encourage customer purchases. Recycling from a roadway save tax dollars and there is an over abundance of deer in Missouri. In fact, MDC authorized unlimited doe deer tags for harvest in 2/3 of the State of Missouri in 2003.

Cow – Steaks, Roasts, Drippings, Trimmings, and Scraps in huge amounts beyond what most would believe; however photos are proof.

Pig – Steaks, Bacon, Roasts, Trimmings, Scraps and Large Bones.

Fish – Various types of fish including but not limited to Tuna, Salmon, Atlantic Whiting, Tilapia and others.

Fowl – Various types: Eggs, *should be cooked to avoid possible salmonella* Meat, Trimmings and Drippings.
I treat my critters with Turkey dogs. Great for training! ***NO Cooked Fowl Bones!!!***

Vegetables – Stews and other cooked foods not fit for Horse or Fowl. I try to recycle God’s blessings.
